Woody Oven
Create delicious smash burgers in the Woody! All you need is a skillet and some know how. The hamburger was created in America, same with the smash burger. The smash burger gets its name from the technique used to create it, with the first one created in Kentucky in the 1960s. A restaurant worker crushed a meat patty on the grill with a bean can to maximise the flavour of the meat. Now, there are burger chains, pop-ups and food trucks that revolve around this delicious comfort food.
4oz Ground Beef
American Cheese Slice
Brioche Bun
Lettuce
Sliced Tomato
Pickles
Ketchup
Mustard
Place a cast iron skilled inside the Woody Oven, allow it to get piping hot.
Season your ground beef with salt and mould into a ball, place inside the skillet.
Allow 30 seconds to elapse and smash your beef creating a flat circular patty.
Flip and ensure both sides have formed a nice crust, add your cheese to the patty and allow another 30 seconds in the Woody to melt. Remove from the skillet.
Add the brioche bun to a slightly cooler skillet and lightly toast in the Woody Oven.
Finally you can build your smash burger!
